Warp Ghost Chaos Space Marines - How to Part1

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here so hopefully i will get some constructive criticism.
so what were gonna go through today is a current commission I'm working on. the colour scheme is that of the Warp ghosts, which are chaos space marines.
Warp Ghost scheme provided by client.
So above is the scheme i got, and basically i thought to myself, dam. This is gonna be real easy or really hard. originally i considered airbrushing.

Paint list:

GW - Dark Reaper, Celestral Grey, Ushabti Bone.

Airbrushing

1) Primer - I only use grey primer but this is personal preference of course, so work with what you feel comfortable with. My grey was a little on the darker side which for me was fine because looking at the above picture I see the grey as being a main component.
2) The second thing that I did was I airbrushed GW's Dark Reaper all over the model. This was done in two coats the second being more focused in the recesses. To  do this I sprayed from beneath the model
3) Next I applied a layer of Celestral Grey mixed with the Dark Reaper in other to slowly create gradual highlights. this was sprayed around the model at a 45 degree angle.
4) This was followed by another layer which was Celestral Grey mixed with Ushabti Bone. This was then sprayed down on the model as a zenith style highlight so it was directly above.
5) I still wasn't happy with how this looked, so using Vallejo glazing medium I glazed pure Ushabti bone onto the armor, this was followed by the black trim and metallic parts.
This is the finished test model.

So as you can see from the above pic, its OK, not great and I was not happy with the effect so after much reconsidering, I decided to glaze all of the armor.
This picture is the armour finished through the glazing method.
There was alot more work involved in this method, and I learnt alot about glazing, and that glazing twenty chaos marines is very taxing and takes alot of glaze medium.
(sorry for the pictures not being great, but took these on my smart phone.)
Basically what you see below is a marine reached the final stages of the painting process.

Paints:

GW- Mephiston Red, Aveland Sunset, Dark Reaper Celestral Grey, Khorne Red, Troll Slayer Orange. Runefang Steel.
Vallejo - Model Colour Brass,
Army Painter - Shinig Gold, Wash/ Midtone ink, Dark Ink
P3 - Thamar Black

Trim: All of the trim was painted using P3's Thamar Black. The beginning of the edge highlighting was a mix of Celestral Grey and Dark Reaper, I will add another layer but for now this is where he stands.
Gold: The gold details were done using Model Colour Brass.
Eyes: The eyes were based Mephiston Red, followed by a very watered down highlight of Troll Slayer Orange.
Chainsword: Originally I had not planned on adding the chevrons but somethings things just click when painting so I went with it. I had the teeth done in a Runefang Steel washed with Army Painter's Dark Ink. once that dried I used my dry brush to highlight it. Obviously it was sloppy due to the size of my dry brush. so the black casing of the chain blade now looked to have battle damage, then i thought wait a minute, so I roughly and I mean very roughly, painted the chevrons with Averland Sunset. once that dried I used a blister sponge and tore a piece of with my clippers. I first used Khorne Red to lay down the darker blood effect on the chain blade, I let this dry for a few seconds and then applied two layers of Mephiston Red. One layer was to create a blend with the previous colour, and the second to highlight.
Once dried I brushed on ard' Coat with an old brush.

Low and behold this is were I am at with them now. Once I have done the highlights Ill add a description of how I did this. Anyway guys thanks for reading, I would appreciate if you could comment on this and share it with your war gaming buddies. Feel free to let me know what you think about this blog becoming a regular article.:)
Cheers Guys
